The drift of the internal clock in a BSF8 is minimal
But recommended to sync every couple months
Control setter can easily use this device right before an event
 
One can also sync using BSM7 plugged into a computer
But after all, you may program the units only once
BS8 is portable and for the periodic time sync only
Can also use as a clear, change modes using Service/Off card
